Wyomissing Chiropractor, Dr. Marc Calicchio

It wasn't until he was seen by an Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractor that Dr. Marc began to see what Chiropractic can really do!

Throughout his childhood and teenage years Dr. Marc suffered with chronic headaches and back pain. At first, his parents didn't believe him and his school work suffered. At that time his parents knew something needed to be done.

Dr. Marc's parents eventually started taking him to a chiropractor that used traditional "pop and crack" methods to correct his spine.

"I would notice relief from my symptoms, but never for any length of time,” explains Dr, Marc. “Usually within a few hours the pain would return.”

It wasn't until he was taken to an Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractor that he began to see what Chiropractic can really do!

"I'll never forget that first adjustment. It was gentle and painless without any snapping or popping," continues Dr. Marc. “The best thing was after a couple of visits that my symptoms began to go away and stayed away! That is when I decided that I wanted to become an Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractor.”

Dr. Marc’s education began at the State University of New York, at Oswego, where after 4 years of study he received his Bachelor's degree in Biology. He was then accepted to Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport, Iowa, where he had 4 more years of intense study and training in such subjects as Anatomy, Physiology, Radiology and many others.

Dr. Marc's Post Graduate work focused on over 300 additional hours of training and concentrated on the cervical spine and spinal anatomy, spinal biomechanics, advanced X-ray analysis, and the advanced adjusting procedures of the Atlas Orthogonal adjusting technique. He received his Atlas Orthogonal Board Certification through Sherman College of Chiropractic as well as established his practice in 2001.

"Many of our patients come to us after having seen many different doctors, even other chiropractors, with little or no success," Dr. Marc explains. "We see all age groups, including children, with a wide variety of symptoms including, but not limited to, arthritis, migraine headaches, neck and back pain, disc herniations, and fibromyalgia."

"When I first went to a chiropractor I was a little apprehensive. So we make it a point to explain everything in advance, answer any questions, and attempt to over communicate. Our patients really do appreciate that."

A Chiropractic Family

While Dr. Marc isn't caring for others, He enjoys spending time with his family. He is married and has 3 children, Chad, Hannah, and Emma. His wife, Mindi, is a Registered Nurse in the Maternity Department where she takes care of mothers and their newborn babies. Dr. Marc and his whole family are patients of the Atlas Orthogonal Procedure and have their spines checked regularly.

Dr. Marc Asks some important questions of interest to Wyomissing residents - Chiropractor Wyomissing Dr. Marc Asks...

What can a chiropractor do for asthma?
Many people think of chiropractic as exclusively dealing with the spine. But I'm interested in the spine because it covers the nervous system. Problems in the spine can produce problems in the organs and tissues controlled by the affected nerves—including those to the lungs and bronchial tubes. Find out how chiropractic care has helped those with asthma.
Why are some people allergic to pollen and others aren't?
It's not the pollen. Chiropractors know that if it were, everyone would be allergic to pollen, nuts and pet dander. But that's not the case. It's the person, not the pollen! If you live in Wyomissing and your stress levels are high, then each year the grass, the trees or the weeds put your nervous system over the top. Many report that chiropractic care helps reduce the frequency and severity of their allergic response.
