What is the Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic Procedure?
chiropractic technique image

The Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic is an upper-cervical, spinal-corrective procedure that is intended to restore a person's balance and stimulate the natural-healing capabilities normally present in the body. It is both gentle and painless. Unlike other chiropractic procedures, there's no twisting, popping or cracking involved.

Besides correcting spinal issues, many other symptoms can be helped with the Atlas Orthogonal Procedure. We have had positive results with many conditions, some of which are:

  • Arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Asthma
  • Sciatica
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome
  • Dizziness
  • Migraines and other headaches
  • Allergies
  • Chronic pain or stress
  • Athletic injuries

The Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic Technique is a chiropractic specialty performed by a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic medicine. In addition to at least six years of undergraduate and chiropractic training, an Atlas Orthogonist must undergo extensive postgraduate training specializing in correcting spinal misalignment by using the atlas orthogonal percussion instrument.

The idea behind the Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic Technique centers on the atlas bone. The spinal cord passes through this bone before any other. If it is off its natural alignment, it can alter nerve impulses and affect blood flow toward the brain, and the problems don't stop there. The misalignment can also cause a variety of postural changes in the spine, impacting the neck, back, shoulders and pelvis and leading to a number of symptoms, including pain that extends into the legs. The accuracy of the procedure affords the patient longer lasting effects.

Thus, one or two adjustments in many cases are usually all that is needed to get proven results. And while the Atlas can again lose its proper alignment, for most patients' results is seen in far fewer visits than with most other chiropractic procedures. The end result is that the Atlas Orthogonal Procedure provides simple, gentle and dramatic results. And that translates into greater relief, better health, fewer office visits and less overall money spent!

Dr. Marc Asks some important questions of interest to Wyomissing residents - Chiropractor Wyomissing Dr. Marc Asks...

What can a chiropractor do for asthma?
Many people think of chiropractic as exclusively dealing with the spine. But I'm interested in the spine because it covers the nervous system. Problems in the spine can produce problems in the organs and tissues controlled by the affected nerves—including those to the lungs and bronchial tubes. Find out how chiropractic care has helped those with asthma.
Why are some people allergic to pollen and others aren't?
It's not the pollen. Chiropractors know that if it were, everyone would be allergic to pollen, nuts and pet dander. But that's not the case. It's the person, not the pollen! If you live in Wyomissing and your stress levels are high, then each year the grass, the trees or the weeds put your nervous system over the top. Many report that chiropractic care helps reduce the frequency and severity of their allergic response.
